Letter from Europe Imports Ltd in the mail today recalling certain models to have a gratis wheel flange replacement. Seems BMW NZ is finally following this recall, albeit much later than other countries.

Don't worry about the wheel flange more important recall overseas for a fuel pump flange near fuel pump leaking and catching fire. Or higher chances of being run over by a truck when one runs out of fuel with a faulty fuel strip. In the States they have extended fuel strip warranty parts and labour for up to 12 Years. But not hearĀ  Whe pay $480 if You want it fixed. Can't complain just Traded in My K1200GT which I have had for 8years and have only had to pay for 3 sets of Tires and 1 battery and 2 services .I don't think the rear wheels going to fall off unless You use a rattle gun on it.

That'sĀ  what happens when Ya have a GSĀ  one ends up riding them all the time. I have had My 1200GSĀ  for 11.5 years and forgotten how many times I have changed the oil/filters and tires. At 125,000ks it's running just like new still.

Reminds me of a time (about 20 years ago) back in the UK, I had a K1 which I used for my daily 120 mile round trip commute, plus weekend riding, oil/filter changes every 6 weeks! I could do all the oils (engine, gearbox, final drive) in under 20 mins!
