    Is it obvious to see it? near the air fliter box, fuse box, is it connected to anything other than wires?

    Nope, Telecrim bounced it back at me, with a message that you had left it on the server too long, so they ditched it.  New story to me, never heard that one before, but nothing Telecrim do surprises me anymore, which is why I don't deal with them.I'll try again......................it's on its way now.

    Correct, that's where I snagged it from.  I suspect Mike probably has a fairly full browser cache, and pages are not refreshing properly any more.  I find it's easier to email the b****y image than explain how to empty the cache, especially because my system is so far away from "normal" I have to go find a Windows PC to work out how he would do it.  I have had this exact problem with both Google Chrome and Firefox browsers not loading attached images from the forum before, but I've never seen it with a linked image like the one in question.

My friend also had a identical bike but he had bought his new and it was still under warranty.We found these instructions (have a look around the website, there are other articles as well) and altered the TPS voltage on my bike. Fortunately my 1100 owning friend is a A Grade mechanic who specialised in EFI systems. The difference was night and day. We went for a ride afterwards, swapping bikes as we went and could not get over how different they were. My bike really got off its backside when the throttle was opened, no longer backfired and no longer surged. To satisfy my statistically minded brain I kept fuel consumption before the adjustment (in the old money) 53-55mpg, after adjustment 49-50mpg so all the TPS adjustment does is pump more fuel in. As for the potentiometer I was told its nothing more than an expensive variable rheostat (?). We put the bike on a gas analyser after the TPS adjustment and adjusted it to the required readings. Then crossed referenced it against some readings we had found on the internet re voltages (or resistences?) across 2 of the poles. It was near enough. Sorry to be a bit vague on some this but I sold the bike 3 years ago and I think most of the information was in the Haynes manual that went with the bike. I recommend this alteration although if you have your bike serviced at a BMW dealer you will have to ask them not to adjust it back to the factory settings.

    Hi All,Thanks to Bwucie sending an image of the potentiometer through to me, I checked my bike with both side panels removed and I could not find one anywhere?My bike does not have an O2 sensor,and the VIN states that there is no catalyzer, so I assume that the collector box prior to the muffler must be empty? I have never had the collector box and muffler off to weigh it, as I am buggered if I can undo the two small allen cap screws that secure the collector box to the centre stand, but my exhaust note is noticably quiet, so I always assumed that the catalyzer was fitted?Cheers,Mike
